Weber sent a letter to the head of the European Council Charles Michel, calling on him at the summit of leaders member countries of the organization in October to raise the issue of issuing European visas to Russian citizens by Hungary. In his opinion, such a decision by Budapest poses a threat to national security.

This is reported by NBN with reference to the British publication Financial Times.

The politician considers the need for a new immigration system in Hungary questionable, warning that it will allow citizens of the aggressor country to move freely throughout most of the territory of the European Union, bypassing the restrictions provided for by the legislation of the organization, and to engage in espionage.

Weber called on the leadership of the European Union to urgently take measures to protect the integrity of the Schengen zone and prevent initiatives for minimal control of Russians upon entry into the EU.

Recall that the head of the Polish Foreign Ministry, Radoslaw Sikorski, said that Hungary's position irritates all members of the European Union.
