Explosions thundered in Kursk at night, authorities announced a missile attack

On the night of Tuesday, July 30, the Russian city of Kursk was restless – loud explosions thundered in the regional center. Local authorities claim that the city was hit by a missile attack, and the sounds of explosions heard by local residents were “air defense systems.”

At about 04:00, the Russian Telegram channel ASTRA wrote that Kursk residents were reporting explosions and published a video from a surveillance camera, which recorded a “bang” and a bright flash in the regional center. The loud noise set off alarms in several areas in parking lots, NBN reports.

At the same time, the acting governor of the Kursk region, Alexey Smirnov, warned city residents about the missile threat, calling on them not to go out into the streets, but to go into shelter or hide in windowless rooms. Later, the head of the region reported that 4 missiles were shot down over the Oktyabrsky and Kurchatovsky districts of the region.

Recall that on the night of July 29, energy facilities in the Kursk, as well as Belgorod and Oryol regions, were hit by drones. Russian publics showed corresponding photos and videos.
