The developers of the Chinese TikTok platform are planning to integrate a new option called “Sound Search” into their service.

As NBN reports with a link to the thematic portal TechcRunch, the above-described feature will allow users to quickly find songs by humming their melody or playing a fragment in the application.
So far, such a function is only being tested among a limited circle of users, but it is already known that to activate the “Sound Search”, it will be enough to click on the microphone icon in the application search bar. However, testers note that popular tracks are quickly searched for by the new functionality, but some difficulties arise with lesser-known melodies.
Also, if the composition is successfully identified, users are given access to video clips with this song or remixes. In addition, it is better to know in advance – the functionality is aimed at identifying songs, and not sounds or memes from TikTok.
