Budapest assured Brussels of completion of Orban's “peacekeeping mission” – media

At the beginning of last month, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban arrived in Kyiv, where he proposed to Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to stop hostilities, which would allegedly facilitate the start of negotiations with the Russian Federation, while later identical negotiations were held with the Kremlin tyrant Vladimir Putin and Chinese leader Xi Jinping.

As reported by NBN with a link to the El Pais material, the head of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry for European Affairs, János Boka, sent a note to the EU member states, in which indicated Orban intends to stop his “mission” regarding peace in Ukraine.

However, some European functionaries have expressed doubts about the veracity of the above statement and believe Orban will resume his “mission” if he perceives benefits from&nbsp ;such actions.

It should be noted that a series of these meetings between Orban and the leaders of the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China, which coincided with the beginning of Hungary's 6-month presidency of the European Council, greatly angered the governments of the EU countries, which, as a result, they demanded explanations from Budapest and a simultaneous boycott of any of its decisions.

Earlier, we wrote about what Orban said—Ukraine will never be accepted into the European Union and NATO.
