In an interview with OBOZ.UA, Portnikov noted that the PRC leadership is trying to create a myth about its country’s “neutral” position on the war in Ukraine, and Kiev’s policy contributes to this, informs “NBN”.

The journalist recalled that when US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that Beijing provides 90% of the aggressor country's military-industrial complex, Volodymyr Zelensky responded that Xi Jinping promised not to provide Russia with weapons. Now the Ukrainian leader is repeating the same thing about Beijing.

The analyst clarified that China does not supply weapons to the Russians, but provides components for them and creates economic opportunities for the terrorist state.

The journalist also drew attention to the fact that the Chinese leadership held a meeting with Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba at a lower level than with representatives of the Kremlin. In addition, after these negotiations, the Chinese immediately met with the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry Sergey Lavrov, where completely different statements were made.

Kyiv demonstrates a willingness to discuss various peace plans, but Beijing's proposals do not include the restoration of Ukraine's territorial integrity and the payment of reparations by the Russians.

Portnikov said that flirting with the Chinese leadership will not bring real results, since Kyiv has nothing to offer Beijing. The Chinese authorities view Ukraine as an American zone of influence in Europe, so it is of no interest to them as an investment opportunity.

At the same time, if the Russian Federation occupies most of the Ukrainian territories, Moscow will be ready to provide the Chinese with all economic opportunities in these regions, since the Kremlin does not have much choice of investors.

Recall that the NGU fighter told how China makes it easier for Russians to produce UAVs.
