Regular combined attacks by a terrorist state on Ukrainian energy facilities can only significantly complicate the operation of this infrastructure, but not completely destroy it.

As reported by NBN, citing a statement by the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, which was made during a telethon on the YouTube channel “TSN”, the domestic energy system has several levels of protection, and “they [the occupiers] will not completely destroy it.”
According to Budanov, Ukraine inherited Soviet energy networks, which are distinguished by maximum branching and duplication of capacity, conditionally, at level 3 or 4. Thus, the invaders can only “make life difficult” for Ukrainians, but to fully destroy the energy infrastructure is “almost impossible.”
At the same time, the Russian Federation is strengthening measures to protect its energy sector, in case Ukraine begins to launch retaliatory strikes against this structure, despite the fact that their “nodes are very strongly protected.” In particular, the aggressor country is expanding its air defense, and Ukraine is not yet ready to “put down their energy system.”
