Deployment of US long-range missiles in Germany will 'reliably deter' Russia – Baerbock

As reported by NBN with reference to Deutsche Welle, the head of the German Foreign Ministry, Annalena Baerbock, spoke in defense of the agreement with the United States regarding the deployment of American long-range missiles on German territory, explaining her commitment to this agreement by the high degree of danger from the Russian Federation for the security of the EU.

According to Baerbock, the formation of current foreign policy at the current moment forces us to admit that the so-called “principle of hope” is not capable of protecting the European Union from Putin's Russia, despite increased investment in its own security and defense, which is being done by both the EU and NATO, and in Germany.

The head of the German Foreign Ministry added that the decision regarding the deployment of American long-range weapons systems will provide her country with a “reliable deterrent” against Russia, which, among other things, will protect “the Poles, the Baltic peoples and the Finns – our partners” who have common borders with the aggressor country and who have felt first-hand how the Kremlin has been using hybrid measures “on the border in recent months.”

Earlier, we wrote about Scholz explaining how Russia can stop the US deployment of missile systems in Germany.
