In connection with the situation in the Kursk region, the head of the Kremlin convened the Russian Security Council at 13:00 Moscow time. The meeting is usually held on Fridays, but due to fighting in the border region, the meeting was held two days earlier, NBN reports, citing Brief.
As reported by Politexpert, Z-publics write that Ukrainian troops attacked the Sudzhansky district, were able to gain a foothold in the Kursk region and occupy several settlements. At the same time, Russian war correspondents admit significant losses for the Russian Armed Forces.
Earlier, the Defense Ministry stated that Putin's army was able to push Ukrainian forces back from the region. However, today the Russian Defense Ministry admitted that hostilities are continuing, telling the Russians that the occupation forces allegedly “prevented” the enemy from advancing deep into the territory of the aggressor country.
Recall that the “breakthrough” in the Kursk region was commented on by the Russian Foreign Ministry. The spokesperson for the ministry, Maria Zakharova, accused Ukraine of “a terrorist attack against civilians.”
