On Wednesday, August 7, Mexico invited Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin to the inauguration of newly elected President Claudia Sheinbaum. Ukraine called on the country's authorities to arrest the Russian leader if he comes to participate in the event.

The Ukrainian Embassy in Mexico responded to media reports regarding the invitation of the leader of the Russians to the inauguration of Claudia Sheinbaum as head of state. The corresponding event is scheduled for October 1, NBN reports.
The diplomatic department expressed hope that Mexico knows that Putin is a war criminal. The International Criminal Court has issued an arrest warrant for the head of the Kremlin on suspicion of kidnapping and forcibly transferring Ukrainian children to the Russian Federation.
The embassy noted that Mexico recognizes the jurisdiction of the UN judicial body in The Hague. Ukraine expects that if the Russian dictator arrives for the presidential inauguration, the country's authorities will in any case comply with the ICC arrest warrant.
Recall that former US President Donald Trump promised to achieve “peace talks” from Putin and Zelensky if he again leads the States.
