EU spokesman Peter Stano commented on the “breakthrough” in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation. The official said that Ukraine, which suffers from Russia's illegal aggression, has the right to strike the enemy on its territory.

During a briefing in Brussels, the EU spokesman announced the organization's position on the events in Kursk region aggressor country, writes “NBN” with reference to the agency “Ukrinform”.
According to Stano, Ukraine is waging a defensive war against the Russian Federation and, according to international law, has the right to self-defense. Therefore, the Defense Forces can hit Russian occupiers where they consider it necessary, even on the territory of a terrorist state.
The official emphasized that this is the principled and common position of the European Union regarding the conduct of military operations by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The EU representative added that the organization will support the country that has experienced illegal aggression from Russia.
Recall that adviser to the head of Zelensky's Office Mykhailo Podolyak pointed out the reason for the hostilities in the Kursk region and spoke about the self-destruction of an aggressive country.
