The Ministry of Energy reported whether it is possible to introduce hourly power outage schedules with the arrival of heat

Abnormally hot weather conditions in July, superimposed on restoration and repair work at domestic nuclear power plants and the consequences of Russian strikes on power generation facilities, worsened the situation in the energy system, as a result of which Ukrenergo introduced strict schedules of “hourly” power outages.

As reported by NBN, citing an explanation from Deputy Minister of Energy Svetlana Grinchuk, which was voiced during a telethon on the YouTube channel TSN, a return to long-term power outage schedules in Ukraine is not yet expected, even if it gets hot again, but there is one caveat.

Based on Grinchuk’s words, the situation in the country’s energy infrastructure has noticeably stabilized thanks to the completion of scheduled repairs at nuclear power plant units.

In addition, additional capacity is expected to be added to the energy system, and “such outages as in July, we won’t have it.”

However, the official summed up:

But we must remember that the situation can change at any moment due to potential enemy attacks on the energy system.

Earlier, our information portal wrote about how the Ministry of Energy responded to a foreign media article with a forecast about Ukraine’s life “in the cold and darkness” in winter.
