At the current stage of the “Kursk breakthrough”, the Defense Forces control about 1,000 square kilometers in this Russian region, and at least 70 populated areas have been “cleared” of the Russian Armed Forces.

As NBN reports with reference to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), the Ukrainian Armed Forces' offensive in Kursk region openly demonstrates – Ukrainians are able to use maneuver warfare tactics to compensate for the terrorist state's superiority in personnel and armored vehicles.
According to ISW analysts, from January to July of this year, the Russian invading army occupied a total of 1,175 square kilometers in Ukraine, which is comparable to the Kursk region (the Ukrainian Armed Forces occupied approximately 800 square kilometers over 6 days, and as of August 17, had advanced 28 kilometers into the Russian Federation).
Thus, the use of maneuver by the Defense Forces in the Kursk region is an example of how the Ukrainian operation, in combination with operational surprise, could lead to major territorial gains in significantly shorter periods of time, and with much smaller numbers of manpower and equipment.
However, a prolonged positional confrontation, on the contrary, will only deplete Ukraine's resources, and a protracted war will increase the volume of expenses for both Kyiv and Western partner states.
Earlier, we wrote that today the Ukrainian Air Force “minus” another bridge in the Kursk region.
