The day before, on August 20, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky reported that the Defense Forces advanced 28-35 kilometers deep into the Kursk region, taking control of a total of 93 settlements (1,263 thousand square kilometers).

As NBN reports with reference to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), in recent days, the Ukrainian army's operation in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation has achieved only “minor successes”, and not at all “as quickly as before.”
According to geolocation footage, the Defense Forces of our country are in the Vishnevka area, approximately 14 kilometers from the border. At the same time, the Russian Defense Ministry announced a strike on Ukrainian units involved in this location, which, judging by everything, indirectly recognizes the progress achieved by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
However, the Ukrainian Air Force carried out retaliatory attacks on a number of bridges and crossings in the Kursk region, apparently seeking to suppress the attempts of Putin's army to resist the invasion, thereby blocking some formations of the Russian Armed Forces. At the same time, Syrsky warned that the Russian generals are transferring “manpower” from other directions to Kursk, intending to strengthen their positions.
The Institute for the Study of War added that Syrsky's map indicates that the Ukrainian army has moved somewhat further than ISW analysts estimate, namely: to Viktorovka (southwest of Koreveno); to Snaghost and Koreveno; northeast of Koreveno in the zones north of Kremnevoe and northwest of Pogrebki; east of Malaya Lokna (north of Sudzha); southeast of Sudzha.

Earlier we wrote about the fact that ISW reported how much manpower the Russian Federation transferred from Ukraine to defend Kursk region.
