As NBN reports with reference to messages in the Russian Telegram channels Baza, ASTRA and SHOT, in the city of Kalach-na-Donu, early in the morning of this Thursday, August 22 (around 4 o'clock), a series of explosions thundered due to the “arrivals” of drones.
Russian media report that local air defense forces and assets allegedly “shot down” at least two UAVs: one drone was destroyed several kilometers from the airfield, and the wreckage of the second was “fell on a nearby trailer, causing it to burst into flames.” Judging by everything, the case concerns the military airfield “Marinovka”, located in the village of Oktyabrsky, approximately 20 kilometers from Kalach-na-Donu.
At the same time, residents of Kalach-na-Donu assure that the fire definitely occurred on the territory of the airfield: previously, 6 to 10 “strong bangs” were heard during the air strike on the airfield.
