The Threads microblogging service has announced a new feature that allows you to publish posts that disappear after 24 hours.

At the moment, this option is in the testing stage among a limited number of users. The feature is somewhat reminiscent of the Fleets ephemeral post format that was introduced on X (formerly Twitter) in 2021, but failed to gain widespread popularity and was soon cancelled.
Also earlier this year, Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri mentioned testing an automatic post archiving feature on Threads, which would hide posts after a set amount of time. However, the feature failed to resonate with users and was never rolled out to the public.
Threads recently announced that it had reached 200 million users, a significant milestone for the platform, and introduced new account analytics tools like Insights, which are aimed primarily at users with large followings. It is possible that a post scheduling function will appear in the near future, allowing you to create and publish content in advance at a set time.
