On Ukraine's Independence Day, President Volodymyr Zelensky presented government awards to the most outstanding domestic athletes, including absolute champion Oleksandr Usyk.

As NBN reports with reference to New Voice material, the famous Ukrainian boxer, who became absolute world champion in super heavyweight weight category Oleksandr Usyk made a return gift to President Volodymyr Zelensky.
As it became known, Usyk presented the Ukrainian leader with the WBC championship belt, justifying such a generous gesture by the fact that Zelensky had been giving gifts to athletes for two or three days, – “and no one gave him anything, only him.”
Our “absolute” emphasized:
I decided to make such a gesture. He is a fighter, so let the president have the belt.
In addition, Usyk simultaneously addressed the defenders of our country who are fighting on the front lines, holding back the advance of the Russian occupation forces:
You tigers, you are incredible! I pray for everyone and you, too, please do not forget to pray for yourself. Thank you, glory to God! Glory to Ukraine!
Earlier, our information portal wrote that Usyk and Kharlan were awarded the Order of Freedom on August 24.
