As NBN reports with reference to the material of the Politico publication, the above-described disruption of the meeting of high-ranking European officials will likely be provoked by the growing degree of dissatisfaction of Brussels with the political Budapest's position on the Russian Federation.
According to information provided to the publication by anonymous sources, Irish Minister for Public Expenditure Paschal Donohoe, who is chairing the upcoming event, intends to decide by the end of next week whether to continue preparations for the September meeting.
In addition, one of the unspecified officials noted that intensive negotiations are currently underway between the governments of EU member states regarding a possible boycott by ministers, regardless of Donohoe's actions.
It should be noted that a preliminary meeting of EU officials is planned on September 5-6, however, there is no information on the European Council website about the Eurogroup meeting, while the German Finance Minister, like his colleagues from Estonia, Finland and Lithuania, managed to announce their refusal to participate in this summit under any “scenario”.
Earlier, we wrote about the fact that in Finland they stated that Hungary is ignoring the general policy of the European Union.
