As reported by NBN, citing a statement by Kharkiv Regional Council deputy Alexander Skoryk, published by Espresso, the situation around Kupyansk and in the city itself remains extremely difficult, since the settlement is adjacent to a dynamically moving front line.
According to Skoryk, Kupyansk’s proximity to the front line allows the occupiers to regularly drop guided aerial bombs (KABs), and if you look at the city from a “bird’s eye view” now, you can see that there are practically no houses or alleys that are destroyed to one degree or another.
The people’s representative added: the invaders are strengthening their group in the Kupyansk direction, as they are striving to reach the Oskol River, but the key goal of the “liberators” is to destroy Kupyansk to the ground, “so that it would be impossible not only to live there,” but even to gain a foothold for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Skoryk emphasized that the current tactics occupiers provides for the “knocking out” of the defensive line of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in particular, “burning out with KABs”, which made it impossible to hold positions.
The MP summarized:
I think that the situation will not change for the better. But a fairly large number of courageous people live there and they are holding on.
Earlier we wrote that the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported how many occupiers were blocked at the aggregate plant in Volchansk.
