British intelligence has identified a section of the front in Ukraine that is a priority for Putin's army

Despite the fact that the Russian Federation seeks to strengthen its troop grouping in the Kursk region, the key task for the “second army in the world” is not to protect its own territories.

As reported by “NBN” with a link to the X-account of the UK Ministry of Defense, the authorities of the Kursk region recently announced the formation of the BARS-Kursk volunteer brigade, in which potential recruits will have to serve exclusively within this region within the framework of a 6-month contract.

British military intelligence analysts remind: BARS (Country Combat Army Reserve) units were first created in 2021, and their purpose is to support the Russian defense department with reservists with a high degree of training and short-term service. In addition, BARS units are mainly light infantry formations that do not have artillery or armored vehicles.

Thus, the creation of BARS-Kursk, judging by everything, is an insignificant response to the operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region, since this volunteer unit will be able to strengthen the defense capability of this region only from September, and the Russian generals are still transferring their main forces to the Pokrovsk direction in the Donetsk region in the eastern part of Ukraine.

Earlier we wrote that the Russian Federation recalled its mercenaries from Burkina Faso to protect the Kursk region.
