The Russian occupation army had been slowly advancing towards Pokrovsk since the February capture of the strategic Avdiivka, but a number of factors accelerated the advance of the “liberators”.

As NBN reports with reference to the material from The Telegraph, after Ukraine transferred some of its elite units from Donbass for the operation in Kursk region, the pace of the Russian offensive has increased – the “second army of the world” is intensively advancing in the Pokrovsk direction.

However, an unspecified Ukrainian officer told the publication – he sees such a speed of the Russian offensive for the first time. At the same time, such “successes” of the Russians are explained simply – the Defense Forces feel a significant shortage of artillery, shells and UAVs. Also, the most critical thing for the Ukrainian Armed Forces now is the huge number of “manpower” in Putin's army, which, according to an unknown commander, exceeds the Defense Forces “at least 5 times.”

The Ukrainian commander emphasized:

They [the Russian Armed Forces] are trying to break through this flank, essentially, along the highway to Pokrovsk, and they are succeeding, and very successfully.

It is assumed that Putin's troops will be able to reach the city in 2 weeks, but will not be able to capture Pokrovsk.

Earlier we wrote that the occupiers changed tactics to intensify the offensive on Pokrovsk.
