The press service of the Sumy OVA announced that at night the troops of the aggressor country launched kamikaze drones “Shahed” at the region. The enemy hit energy infrastructure facilities. The attack damaged settlements in the Akhtyrka, Konotop and Sumy districts, in particular the regional center, NBN reports.
The department noted that water utilities, medical institutions and other critical infrastructure facilities were connected to backup power systems. Emergency teams are carrying out restoration work. As of 07:00, 281,072 electricity consumers in the region are temporarily without power.
According to the administration, air defense forces destroyed 16 attack drones over the territory of the Sumy region.
