Today, September 18, the parliament supported an increase in the expenditure side of the 2024 state budget, which will be used to meet increased military needs.

As reported by NBN with reference to the official website of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, the total share of cash expenditures of the state budget amounted to UAH 2.1 trillion in January-August of this year, which is UAH 206.5 billion (10.9 percent) more if compared with the same period in 2023.
In particular, during August, UAH 286.2 billion left the state budget, while in July it was UAH 264.3 billion.
Based on the structure of expenses, it can be understood that the largest amount was financed for wages – 817.5 billion UAH (last month – 109.6 billion UAH), of which 620.2 billion UAH was allocated for the salaries of defenders (instead of 82.3 billion UAH in July).
In addition, 331.3 billion UAH (36.7 billion UAH) were transferred to pay for goods and services, of which 82 billion UAH was spent on providing the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations, including law enforcement agencies. At the same time, UAH 376.7 billion was allocated for social support of the population (payment of pensions, benefits and scholarships) (in July – UAH 48.2 billion).
