The Wall Street Journal reported yesterday that the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost about 80,000 people killed and another 400,000 wounded.

As NBN reports, citing a statement by the secretary of the parliamentary committee on national security, defense and intelligence Roman Kostenko, published by Radio Liberty, the above-described figures from WSJ do not correspond to reality, as they are too inflated.
According to Kostenko, such a number of killed people is “exaggerated data”, especially if we are talking about acknowledged information. In addition, the MP believes that even the figure of 50,000 dead may be distorted upwards or approximate.
In particular, if we rely on the data for the past two years, then Ukraine has “somewhere approximately the same” number of both wounded and dead – 19,000 people (based on the death certificates issued).
However, the secretary of the Defense Committee of the Verkhovna Rada added that certain figures are not taken into account – we are talking about “missing in action,” of whom, according to Kostenko, there are also about 19,000 people.
Kostenko summed up:
I don't have the most accurate data to say that this data is 100 percent correct [38,000 casualties and 19 missing]. I think that they are approximate.
Earlier we wrote about British intelligence explaining what caused the increase in daily losses of the Russian Federation in August.
