ISW assessed the effect of strikes on Russian logistics after the attack on a warehouse in the Tver region

The analytical material from ISW notes that, according to sources in the special services of Ukraine, on September 18, the SBU, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense and the Special Operations Forces struck the facility of the 107th arsenal of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation near the city of Toropets in the Tver region, informs “NBN”.

American experts specified that the Russians stored Iskander missiles, Tochka-U ballistic missiles, North Korean KN-23 missiles, ammunition for air defense systems, multiple launch rocket systems, and artillery shells at this warehouse. The attack on the facility caused hysteria among propagandists and Z-bloggers.

Analysts believe that further strikes by the Defense Forces on the logistics facilities of the Russian Armed Forces in the rear with a similar level of damage as after the “bavovna” in the Tver region will create broader operational pressure on the invaders, since such attacks undermine the ability of Putin's army to carry out long-range strikes on Ukrainian territory.

The ISW recalled that after successful shelling of Russian ammunition depots in the VOT with HIMARS MLRS in the summer of 2022, the command of the “second army in the world” had to disperse the ammunition depots, which then worsened the effectiveness of enemy logistics.

Experts added that strikes by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the invaders' facilities on Russian territory could lead to a similar decision by the military leadership of the aggressor country.

Recall that Russian media revealed details of the “bavovna” at an ammunition depot in the Tver region.
