Chief of Staff of the Russian Volunteer Corps Alexander “Fortuna” revealed details of the battles for the aggregate plant in Volchansk in the north of Kharkiv region on the air of the national telethon, “NBN” reports.
According to him, the liberation of the plant was the first such operation of the Defense Forces since the beginning of a full-scale war, during which a team of special forces stormed an object of this level. The representative of the RDC explained that such tasks are usually carried out by a brigade of line infantry with artillery support.
“Fortuna” noted that the aggregate plant is actually a large fortress, a fortified area that is visible from the sky from all sides, which is why it is difficult to approach and penetrate its territory. In this regard, it was proposed to storm the facility by specialists of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense and Russian volunteers.
The Chief of Staff of the RDC added that the occupiers could have organized a bridgehead at the aggregate plant for a further offensive to the south of the city. It was easy for the invaders to hold the defense on the territory of the plant; there are very few such locations in Vovchansk, so when they are liberated, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will regain full control over the city.
The military specified that most of the “liberators” were destroyed on the territory of the plant, and the defenders took a certain number of Russians prisoner.
As reported, the Defense Forces stated that in the Kharkiv region, the Russian command is using the occupiers as bait to detect Ukrainian firing positions.
