As reported by NBN with reference to the Telegram channel of Deutsche Welle, the head of the German Defense Ministry Boris Pistorius stated that the Russian Federation is seeking to undermine the unity of the EU and the North Atlantic Alliance by using hybrid methods of warfare in Europe.

According to Pistorius, Russia's invasion of Ukraine is only the beginning, since the real enemy of Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin is a free and independent, democratic way of life in Europe.

The head of the German Defense Ministry separately confirmed Berlin's plans to transfer a full-fledged brigade to Lithuania by 2027, while sending troops to this Baltic country will begin this year.

Pistorius added that Germany is aware of its responsibility as a central logistics hub in the EU, while ensuring that [NATO] troops can move without delay from the Atlantic coast to the eastern flank if necessary.

Thus, Germany is ready to become the main support for deterring a potential Russian invasion of Europe, because:

More 35,000 German troops, 200 aircraft, two frigates and additional forces can be brought to operational readiness.

Earlier we wrote that Germany intended to cut funding for military support for Ukraine by 2 times from 2025.
