Swiss publication Die Weltwoche writes that the Hungarian Prime Minister held intensive talks with representatives of China and Brazil last week in the United States behind the scenes of the UN General Assembly to initiate a so-called “peace” summit of the leaders of Ukraine and Russia, NBN reports.

According to media reports, the head of the Hungarian government has secured the support of 15 states, “friends of peace”, to organize the event. The location of the summit, which will also be attended by representatives of France and Switzerland, is currently being discussed.

Journalists note that the leadership of the European Union is irritated by Orban's trips abroad and the fact that he exceeds his official powers, since he cannot negotiate on behalf of the organization. However, the politician intends to complete his “peacekeeping mission”.

Recall that last week, Orban's adviser condemned Ukraine for its decision to repel the Russian occupiers, suggesting that his country would not have resisted in the event of an invasion. The Hungarian prime minister called his political director's statement “ambiguous.”
