The German newspaper Die Zeit stated that the head of the German government intends to call the leader of the Russians. He wants to hold talks with the Kremlin dictator next month, on the eve of the G20 summit, NBN reports.

Scholz will contact Putin for the first time in almost two years in November. In addition, if the chancellor decides to call the Kremlin, he will become the first leader of the states that most actively support Ukrainians to resume direct contact with the head of a terrorist state.

Journalists recalled that the last telephone conversation between the head of the German government and the Kremlin dictator took place in December 2022.

Recall that in early September, German government spokesman Steffen Hebestreit said that the chancellor would not hesitate to call the Russian leader if he deems the moment appropriate.

As reported, Scholz insists on the participation of Moscow representatives in the Global Peace Summit.
