A Mariupol resident has been charged with the murder of a Russian citizen who moved into an apartment in their building without permission, but his neighbors are calling the incident self-defense.

The Mariupol City Council reported that a resident of the building on Metallurgov Avenue, 43, caused knife wounds to a Russian who moved into an empty apartment without permission last spring, NBN reports.
After the migrant from Vladikavkaz occupied the apartment without permission, he began to conflict with his neighbors – he broke locks and threw bricks at windows. One man made a remark to him and the next day he was hit on the head with a brick by a citizen of the Russian Federation. In addition, his wife also got it – the newcomer hit her.
Later, there was another incident when the new neighbor set his dog on them. After this, the Mariupol resident began to carry a knife with him. During another clash, according to eyewitnesses, the Russian pulled out a sharp object and tried to hit his neighbor with it.
However, the man was able to take the knife away and, in self-defense, hit the citizen of the Russian Federation with it. “Law enforcement officers” detained the Mariupol resident and accused him of murder. However, neighbors stood up for him and claim that it was self-defense.
Residents said that they repeatedly contacted the “guardians of law and order”, who ignored people's complaints about the Russian, and now made their neighbor the culprit.
Recall that Mariupol mayor's advisor Petr Andryushchenko reported that the occupiers in the city are settling migrants from the Kursk region in “nationalized” housing.
