As NBN reports with a link to the official page of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine (FTUU), the Ministry of Social Policy sent the Cabinet of Ministers the appropriate resolution “Some issues of implementing the pilot project for the provision of basic social assistance”, which provides for the introduction of a new type of financial support for the population in the country.
The above-described basic social assistance will be paid only upon application by the applicant himself, leaving him the right to choose – to receive the specified payments or other types of state support.
In particular, the following categories are allowed to apply for basic social assistance:
- low-income families;
- children of single mothers;
- children raised in large families;
- children whose parents evade paying child support for various, even valid, reasons;
- internally displaced persons;
- individuals not receiving pension benefits (insufficient work experience)/individuals with a disability group.
Earlier we wrote about the Cabinet of Ministers telling who would receive a small social benefit instead of a pension.
