The Slovak Prime Minister during an intergovernmental meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Denis Shmyhal spoke in Uzhgorod on Monday, October 7, about the country's integration into the EU and NATO, NBN reports with reference to Suspilne.

According to the politician, Bratislava 100% supports Ukraine's accession to the European Union, but at the same time “has a cold attitude” towards its integration into the Alliance. Fico assured that the Slovak authorities will not create obstacles on the country's path to the EU.

The head of the Slovak government also stated that Bratislava supports all peace plans of Kyiv, President Volodymyr Zelensky and the Peace Formula presented by him. The Prime Minister added that his country is interested in good-neighborly relations with Ukraine and in its restoration.

In addition, the politician assured that the Slovak leadership will support all initiatives to achieve high-quality and sustainable peace in the neighboring country.

It should be noted that the day before, in an interview with STVR, Fico said that while he is in power, Slovakia will never agree to the integration of Ukraine into the Alliance, since such a step would allegedly unleash World War III.

Earlier, the media reported that Ukraine could be offered specific steps for NATO membership at the Rammstein meeting.
