As reported by NBN with reference to the explanation of the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Budget Issues Roksolana Pidlasa, voiced during the telethon on the YouTube channel “TSN”, the people's deputies plan to adopt the state budget for next year in the first reading by the end of October, and in the second – by the end of November.
In particular, such a delay is caused by a large number of amendments to the document submitted by elected representatives – more than 2,000 amendments have been submitted this year to the state budget, which is 400 more than in 2023.
The head of the parliamentary budget committee added that defense spending will remain a priority in the draft 2025 State Budget, since spending on this sector is planned within 2.2 trillion hryvnia.
At the same time, much less is provided for the social sphere (pension benefits, subsidies, and, probably, salaries of public sector employees) – about 419 billion hryvnia. However, another 481 billion hryvnia will go to servicing large government debts (interest payments, etc.).
