Ursula von der Leyen has reproached the head of the Hungarian government for supporting Kremlin dictator. The politician accused the representative of Budapest of flirting with the Russian leader, NBN reports with reference to Politico.
According to the head of the European Commission, there are still those who blame the occupied countries and those who yearn for freedom for the war, and not the occupier. Looking at Orban, the EC President asked whether they would blame the Hungarians for the invasion of the USSR troops in 1956 or the Czechs, Slovaks, and Lithuanians for Soviet repressions.
Ursula von der Leyen also recalled that this summer Budapest relaxed the visa regime for citizens of the aggressor country, threatening the security of all member states of the European Union. The politician said that with this decision, the Hungarian authorities opened a back door for foreign interference.
Recall that the Hungarian leadership blocked a 35 billion euro loan for Ukraine from the European Union. The media reported that Budapest is preventing the EU from providing finances to Kyiv, waiting for the results of the presidential elections in the United States.
