The media reported that the DPRK blew up roads that lead to the territory of South Korea. Musienko called such actions by Pyongyang symbolic, NBN reports, citing RBC-Ukraine.

The expert recalled that these roads were built as a sign of warming relations between the two countries and it was assumed that they would be used for traffic. He noted that there are political forces in Seoul that advocate a peaceful settlement of the conflict with Pyongyang.

According to Musienko, there are many refugees from the DPRK in South Korea. Most of these people escaped through minefields. Therefore, it is possible that some of the military personnel in Kim Jong-un's army will also want to try to leave the country. Therefore, the destruction of roads by Pyongyang is more of a symbolic gesture.

The expert added that the ruler of the DPRK, as the head of the Kremlin, needs to reinforce his status as an authoritarian leader with constant external threats to his state.

As reported, the media reported on the desertion of 18 North Korean fighters on the border of the Kursk and Bryansk regions.
