As NBN reports with reference to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), the Russian military-industrial complex appears to have carried out a major modernization of the Geran-2/Shahed, which has affected the flight performance of the kamikaze drones.

Analysts at the Institute for the Study of War cited information provided by a Ukrainian military man serving in the mobile fire group of the Air Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the “defender of the sky”, previously the Russian-Iranian Geran-2/Shahed drones were too slow, maneuvered with difficulty and could fly over Ukraine only at low altitudes. However, over time, the “defense industry” of the aggressor country replaced some of the components of the kamikaze drones with improved ones, and now the UAVs fly faster and at a less accessible altitude for destruction.

However, the Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier added – our mobile fire groups have also improved weapons and equipment, and also adjusted tactics, which allows us to eliminate enemy attack drones without significant problems.

Earlier, we wrote about how the Ground Forces explained the appointment of Oleg Lyashko as commander of the UAV battalion in the 63rd Separate Mechanized Brigade.
