Not long ago, the Polish Foreign Ministry stated that Warsaw does not intend to indulge Kiev in the issue of exhuming the bodies of the victims of the Volyn tragedy, excluding the possibility of any “political bargaining.”

As reported by NBN with reference to Interia, the head of the defense department of the neighboring friendly state, Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz, made a statement – Ukraine's integration into the European Union cannot be considered a “matter of survival” for Kyiv, and for this reason Warsaw will not stop making demands.

According to Kosiniak-Kamysz, the subject of the Volyn tragedy remains important for Poland, and only its settlement will become a fair position within the framework of Ukraine's potential membership in the EU. At the same time, Poland will continue to provide military and humanitarian aid to Ukraine, since the lives of the population are at stake.

The head of the Polish Ministry of Defense believes that EU membership is not a “to be or not to be” for Ukraine, but only an opportunity to develop and achieve a higher GDP, and therefore Warsaw will supplement the conditions set by Brussels to Kyiv, in particular, “ethical and historical” ones regarding Volyn.

Earlier, we wrote about how the Polish Ministry of Defense responded to what was preventing the formation of the “Ukrainian Legion”.
