During a meeting with media representatives after talks with Pentagon Secretary Lloyd Austin, the President said that he did not was going to fire the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kirill Budanov, and the head of the Ministry of Defense, Rustem Umerov.

This was reported by NBN with reference to Channel 24.

According to the Ukrainian leader, he was not going to change the head of military intelligence. Zelensky noted that “this information was circulating,” adding that there was no question of the resignation of the head of the defense department.

Earlier, Forbes reported that Bankova was thinking about dismissing Budanov, Umerov, and the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky.

Journalists wrote that in the coming months, the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service, Oleg Ivaschenko, could be appointed to the post of head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, and Budanov could be fired due to his strained relations with the head of the Office of the President, Andriy Yermak.

The Presidential Office also has complaints about Umerov – he was never able to establish stable work in the defense department. The media outlet named candidates for the post of head of the Ministry of Defense, his first deputy Ivan Gavrilyuk and head of the Ministry of Digital Development, Mykhailo Fedorov.

Zelensky also discussed a possible replacement of the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the summer; Syrsky allegedly had a cool attitude towards the development of unmanned systems in the Defense Forces. However, the source of the publication said that no one will touch the general now.

Recall that earlier journalists learned the reasons for the dismissal of Yermak's deputy Rostislav Shurma.
