Kuleba explained why one should not “overreact” to the Russian BRICS summit

The 16th BRICS summit began yesterday, October 22, in Kazan (Russian Tatarstan), attended by leaders of mainly developing countries, to demonstrate the growing influence of the “non-Western world.”

As NBN reports, citing an opinion published in the official X-profile of former Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba, BRICS will not be able to fully implement joint decisions, since the member states of this organization are not distinguished by unity.

According to Kuleba, the “excessive” reaction to the convening of BRICS, which arose as an alternative to the “Big Seven,” should be ignored and even excluded, despite the fact that the Kazan summit now looks significant. In particular, it is highly unlikely that BRICS will be able to overtake the G7, for an obvious reason: the latter organization thrives on unity, while BRICS lacks this – “it unites, among others, such rivals as India and China.”

In addition, the more ambitious the goals of individual BRICS members become and the more countries join it, the more the implementation of joint decisions will slow down.

The former foreign minister added:

Putin may like these statements, but the transformation their into a real influential anti-Western policy will face enormous obstacles.

Earlier, we wrote that Modi and Putin real goals on BRICS have become known.
