South Korean President Names Condition for Transferring Weapons to Ukraine

During a joint press conference with Polish President Andrzej Duda, the head of state said that Seoul will not “sit idly by” while the North Korean leadership sends its servicemen to the Russian Federation, NBN reports.

By According to the politician, if Pyongyang sends special forces to the war in Ukraine, South Korea will step by step help Kyiv and will consider the possibility of taking the necessary measures to ensure the security of the Korean Peninsula.

The South Korean leader said that Seoul may reconsider its principle of refusing direct supplies of lethal weapons, specifying that this will depend on the military activity of the neighboring state and the development of its cooperation with the Russian Federation.

It should be noted that earlier, the Chief Deputy Advisor on National Security of South Korea Kim Thae Hyo also claimed that Seoul will not stand aside and will decisively respond to the illegal interaction of the DPRK with Russia.

As reported, the DPRK representative to the UN called the sending of troops by Pyongyang to the Russian Federation “groundless rumors” and cooperation with Moscow “legal”.
