As reported by NBN, with a link to the official page of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, this department has revised the requirements regarding the caloric content of key products supplied to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The above decision was the result of an inspection of military units, during which shortcomings were discovered, in particular, numerous cases of supplies of products with reduced caloric content.
According to the deputy head of the domestic defense department Dmitry Klimenkov, in the conditions of an ongoing war, the level of physical and psychological stress on the defenders is extremely high, and for this reason, food products must fully satisfy the needs of military personnel in terms of nutritional value and energy value.
Thus, establishing a clear framework on the energy value of products, is not a question of standards, but a guarantee that the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be able to receive “everything necessary to maintain combat readiness and health.”
However, DOT will begin to apply these requirements as an appendix to state contracts for the purchase of food products no earlier than December 2025.
