Quadrobing (Latin quattuor – “four” and English aerobics) is a combination of physical activity on four limbs with the imitation of sounds and movements of various animals, NBN reports.
The founder of quadrobing is considered to be Japanese sprinter Kenichi Ito. As a child, he was teased with the nickname “monkey”, which he decided to use to his advantage. The athlete studied the movements of this African animal for 9 years and developed a method of moving on all fours. In 2008, he set a Guinness World Record by running a hundred meters in this way in 18.58 seconds.
Quad runners often wear masks of various animals, sometimes putting on fluffy tails and gloves to protect their hands. This movement began to gain popularity in Ukraine and around the world thanks to the TikTok social network: children and teenagers posted videos of themselves in costumes and on all fours moving around public places or doing everyday things.
Quad runners have their pros and cons. Such physical activity is useful for children, in addition, they learn to express themselves, attract attention to themselves and act without being guided by the opinion of society.
However, sometimes a child can get carried away, refuse reality, for example, start eating pet food or go to the toilet in a litter box. In this case, parents need to contact a specialist.
