Washington prohibits Ukraine from launching long-range strikes with Western weapons deep into Russian territory, and also rejects the possibility of “promptly” inviting our country to NATO.

As NBN reports with reference to Ukrinform's material, according to John Herbst, former US ambassador to Ukraine and director of the Atlantic Council's Eurasian Center, after the US presidential elections (November 5), the Biden administration will likely change its position on Ukraine.
According to Herbst, the so-called “Ukrainian issue” concerns inviting Kyiv to join the North Atlantic Alliance, as well as lifting restrictions on long-range strikes against the Russian Federation, but for such actions the White House needs “more courage.”
However, the former US ambassador emphasized that there are still few signs confirming that everything is moving in the above-described direction. For this reason, Herbst criticized the current administration for its indecisiveness, for example, the lack of a proper response to the transfer of North Korean soldiers to the Russian Federation and Moscow's regular provocations regarding the violation of the airspace of NATO member countries.
