During a meeting with the leaders of territorial communities and districts of Transcarpathia, the President said that the Ukrainian leadership had reached an agreement with NATO members on providing Poland with aircraft. In turn, Warsaw was supposed to transfer its old MiG-29 fighters to Kyiv, but did not do so, NBN reports.

According to the head of state, Ukraine asked the neighboring state to protect Stryi and shoot down Russian missiles heading towards Poland. However, Warsaw said that it would help destroy enemy targets if the Alliance supported them in this.

Zelensky noted that Poland did not provide Ukraine with its promised combat aircraft. In addition, other neighboring states did not want to unite with it in order to shoot down the occupiers' missiles flying to the west of our country with the help of aviation and air defense systems.

It should be noted that Warsaw refuses to send MiG-29s to Kyiv, since Poland will feel “unprotected” until the arrival of modern fighters ordered from the allies. Head of State Andrzej Duda noted that the Polish leadership could transfer aviation to Ukraine, but only if NATO guarantees the security of his country's airspace.

Recall that the Ukrainian leader said that Kyiv is counting on European support if the US cuts military aid.
