The head of the Estonian Defense Ministry's Intelligence Center, Ants Kiviselg, reported that North Korean troops have arrived in the Kursk region The Russian Federation, probably at the beginning of last month, where they underwent preliminary training, the duration of which was from 2 to 4 weeks.

After that, Moscow began sending them to the combat zone, the NBN publication reports with reference to ERR.

The colonel noted that Pyongyang promised to send from 10,000 to 12,000 troops to the Russian Federation, in particular 3 generals and 500 officers. He believes that Pyongyang soldiers will be sent to the battlefield in stages, the next units will arrive at the front in the coming weeks.

Kiwiselg clarified that the North Korean servicemen are well prepared for fighting in mountainous terrain, that is, they are not familiar with the geography, climate and territory of Ukraine. At the same time, the training provided to them by the Russian occupiers is not of a very high level. Therefore, Estonian intelligence predicts that the DPRK troops will suffer losses, possibly even greater than those of the Russian Armed Forces.

The colonel believes that the entry of Kim Jong-un's fighters into the war will not significantly change the situation at the front, but sending DPRK forces to Russia in the long term may bring some changes.

Earlier, the media revealed that it is known about three North Korean generals that Pyongyang sent to Russia.
