Polish Deputy Prime Minister criticized Zelensky for his call to shoot down Russian missiles over Ukrainian territory. Gavkovsky accused the president of intending to drag his country into a war with Russia, the NBN newspaper writes, citing Radio Zet.
According to him, the latest statements by the head of Ukraine are words “not worthy of a politician who owes a lot to Poland.” Gavkovsky believes that Kyiv is acting dishonestly towards his country, which gave him equipment and took care of its citizens.
The Warsaw representative noted that Poland is a great friend of Ukraine and, in his opinion, in this situation Zelensky should say “thank you” and not start a witch hunt.
The politician accused the Ukrainian leader of allegedly wanting to drag Poland into hostilities so that it would fight the Russian Federation. The Deputy Prime Minister added that he would like Kyiv to value Warsaw as a friend, rather than criticize it when he wanted even more.
Earlier, in an interview with foreign media, Zelensky said that Ukraine had agreed with NATO to transfer modern aviation to Warsaw, which was supposed to give Kyiv its MiG-29 fighters. The Polish Foreign Ministry responded to the president's reproach.
