The Armed Forces of Ukraine “any day now” expect an assault by Putin’s army in Zaporizhia, where the occupiers resumed active operations at the beginning of last month. The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense reported that the Russian Armed Forces intend to use armored vehicles and numerous UAVs in attacks in this direction.

The increase in the intensity of air strikes in the region by 30-40% also indicates that the Russians are preparing for an offensive, NBN reports with reference to RBC-Ukraine.

Musienko said that after the start of the Ukrainian Armed Forces offensive in the Kursk region, the Russian Federation withdrew part of its forces from Zaporozhye, after which it regrouped.

In his opinion, the goal of Putin's army today remains an attempt to stretch the Ukrainian forces, pull them away from the border region of the Russian Federation and prevent the transfer of defenders to the Pokrovskoe and Kurakhovskoe directions, which are a priority for the enemy.

The expert noted that the invaders want to carry out a diversionary strike, while this is not a strategic offensive to encircle and capture Zaporozhye. However, there are quite serious risks in this direction, as the Russians are probing the Ukrainian Armed Forces' line of defense to find weak spots and try to advance.

Recall that on November 7, the Russian Armed Forces launched five KAB strikes on Zaporizhia. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky responded to the attack.
