They were being prepared to be sent to the so-called “zone of the SVO”, NBN reports.

The first to report the escape of the soldiers was the head of the village, Yevgeny Antipov, who said that some of the soldiers had left the village by taxi. According to the official, four soldiers were detained outside the Kochenyevsky District. Three more were detained later.

According to media reports, at least two of the riot participants had previously been prosecuted.

On the eve of the escape, the soldiers broke windows and honor boards in one of the buildings on the territory of the military unit. One of the soldiers complained to journalists that the military unit command treated them poorly.

The escapees also previously tried to explain to a military police officer that they could not return to the war in Ukraine because of their injuries, claiming that they were not given medical care in the unit where they were brought by deception.

As the Telegram channel specified, the riot near Novosibirsk was one of the largest escapes of soldiers from a military unit that became publicly known.
