Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko has threatened to completely “cut off” the Internet in Belarus in the event of new mass protests, recalling the events of 2020.

The self-proclaimed Belarusian leader during the meeting with students of several educational institutions at the Minsk State Linguistic University threatened to block the Internet in the country if new mass protests break out, the NBN publication writes with reference to the Belta agency.
Lukashenko recalled such events four years ago, noting that then the Internet shutdown in Belarus was due to the fact that it was deciding the issue of the “fate of the state.” Residents of the country suffered from communication interruptions allegedly because Minsk did not want special services from abroad to control Belarusian citizens.
Putin's associate said that in 2020, during mass protests, he had to “weigh” and “choose the best from the worst.” The dictator admitted that the Internet in Belarus was almost always blocked by his decision.
Earlier, Lukashenko “explained” why a woman should not be elected as the head of Belarus.
