On the night of November 25, the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck with missiles ATACMS on the Khalino airfield in the Kursk region. The Forbes analyst noted that this is a large airbase, which is closest to the combat zone in the region, NBN reports.

According to him, the Russians deployed Su-25 attack aircraft at the airfield. As a result of the attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, several of these aircraft could have been disabled. It is possible that the occupiers evacuated some of the “birds” immediately before landing.

The Ukrainian analytical group Frontelligence Insight drew attention to the fact that enemy activity at the airbase significantly decreased after the shelling, so it is unclear whether the defenders destroyed a significant number of aircraft.

Aks writes that the attack on the airfield could deprive the Russian Armed Forces of a vital transshipment base on the front line if the strike damaged radars or anti-aircraft missile batteries. In this case, a new gap will appear in the air defense of the invaders and the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be able to fire at the enemy with cheaper weapons – drones.

Recall that Russian media reported details of the ATACMS missiles landing at the Khalino airbase.
