Analysts have shown how much the population of Ukraine owes on microloans (INFOGRAPHICS)

Over the past year, Ukrainian citizens entered into 8,244,855 agreements with microcredit organizations, borrowing 40.62 billion hryvnia, and a similar trend continues in 2024.

As reported by NBN with reference to the analytics of the OpenDataBot resource, over the course of 9 months of the current year, Ukrainians were issued 5.9 million microcredit funds in the amount of UAH 37.11 billion, and if we compare it with 2023, the average monetary indicator has grown by 1.3 times.

In particular, in 2024, the average amount of a microfinance loan has grown by 28 percent: from UAH 4,830 (USD 126) in 2023, up to 6,190 hryvnia (about 150 dollars) now.

Based on these statistics, in 2024, Ukrainians signed 670,000 microcredit agreements every month – almost as many as during the previous year: since December 2024, the total debt of the population of Ukraine has increased by 1.7 times – from UAH 9.3 billion to UAH 16.02 billion.

It should be noted that 90 percent of this type of loans are issued online, and most of the agreements were concluded for a period of 3 months up to 12 months.
